Dream Wreath

My new wreath. . .

Handmade by me using items I had on hand.  The form is a straw wreath that I first decorated with fake grapes and ivy and sunflowers years ago, one of the first things I made for our new home.  So, we’ve been here for 18 years now and the front door gets a different treatment these days and this was just hanging from the rafters in the basement.  After wrapping the form with batting, I tore some muslin into strips and wrapped that around too.  And really, everything else was just here.  Though you can’t tell it here, the “Dream” script is glass glitter, now tarnished and warm looking.  It was a Wendy Addison piece from a couple Christmases ago.  It’s perfect here, I think.   The rosette is just a gathered piece of linen with a beaded wedding pic in the center.  Also tucked in there is a piece of vintage crochet, some rick-rack and lace.  The bird landed there and seems quite happy.

Have a lovely weekend!
